Biography: Ada showed a gift for mathematics at an early age and is considered the first computer programmer. Her notes that were incorporated into Charles Babbage's article on an early mechanical general-purpose computer (the Analytical Engine) introduced many computer concepts.

Ada was the only legitimate child of the famous poet Lord George Gordon Byron. She became Ada King, Countess of Lovelace (better known as Ada Lovelace) on her marriage to William King.
