Biography: Adam Clayton is an English-born Irish musician best known as the bass player for U2, a band which he co-founded with his schoolmates in 1976. He went to Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin with Bono and Larry Mullen Jr.

It was not until 1995 that Clayton received formal training in the bass, as prior he had been self-taught since the band's inception.
