Biography: Alfonso Cuarón is a Mexican film director, screenwriter, producer, and editor. He is best known for his films Y Tu Mamá También (2001), Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), Children of Men (2006), and Roma (2018).

Cuarón began his career as a television director working on Mexican soap operas. He made his feature film debut with Sólo Con Tu Pareja (1991), a black comedy about infidelity. The film was a commercial and critical success, and launched Cuarón's career as a filmmaker.

Cuarón has since directed a number of successful films and is considered one of the most important filmmakers working today. His films have won numerous awards, including an Academy Award for Best Director for Roma.
