Biography: Alice Cooper is an American rock singer, best known as the "The Godfather of Shock Rock." His career has spanned five decades, throughout known for his raspy voice and excessive stage shows featuring fireworks and stage illusions from fake blood and dueling swords to guillotines and electric chairs.
He first came to fame with his band, named Alice Cooper, which he would adopt as his stage name. The band's 1970 single "I'm Eighteen" and their third studio album Love It to Death (1971) catapulted the Cooper to an enduring fame. When the band broke up, he maintained the name and set out on a wildly successful solo career.
