Biography: Anna Wintour has been the editor of US Vogue since 1988. During this period she revived the magazine, making it and herself one of the most influential voices in fashion.
Throughout her tenure Wintour has been praised for encouraging new designers but criticized or her use of fur. She is considered the inspiration for the fictional editor of Vogue in the book and film "The Devil Wears Prada".
Wintour is known for her consistent and instantly recognizable personal image - the sharp pageboy bob hairstyle and large dark glasses.
