Biography:Known mainly for composing instrumental concertos, especially for the violin, as well as sacred choral works and over forty operas. Vivaldi was born in Venice and spent a large part of his professional life as the violin teacher at the Ospedale della Pietà, though he also worked in Mantua and Rome.
His best known work is a series of violin concertos known as "The Four Seasons". This work was a favorite of French King Louis XIV, who went on to commission other works from him
