Why Famous: Tim Bergling, the Swedish musician, DJ and music producer had adopted the stage name Avicii, a Buddhist term for a realm of hell as a teenager. He rose to fame with the 2011 single "Levels". In 2013 he released his debut album "True" with its lead single "Wake Me Up", causing controversy by infusing country and folk into electronic dance music. In 2015 he released his second studio album "Stories".

Bergling's long standing health and mental health issues and the pressures of fame led to him giving up touring in 2016 for a more positive lifestyle. His suicide while on holiday in Oman in 2018 came as a huge shock to both those who knew him and his fans.
