Full Name: Dale Bryan Murphy
Profession: Baseball Outfielder
Biography: Dale Murphy was an outstanding American professional baseball utility who had a highly credentialed 18-year career in the major leagues.
Playing most of his career with the Atlanta Braves (1976–1990), Murphy won consecutive NL MVP awards (1982–1983), the Silver Slugger Award for 4 straight years (1982–1985) and the Gold Glove Award for 5 straight years (1982–1986).
He was a 7-time All-Star, a 2-time NL home run leader (1984, 1985) and 2-time NL RBI leader (1982, 1983).
Murphy was known for his clean-living habits off the field and despite being a star five-tool player superstar with multiple MVP awards was inexplicably never elected to the Hall of Fame.
