Biography: Deschamps has been the manager of the French national football team since 2012. Prior to this he played as a defensive midfielder for a number of clubs such as Marseilles and Chelsea. In 1993 he was part of the only French team so far to win the UEFA Champions League.

As captain of his team he guided France to victory in the 1998 FIFA World Cup and as manager he won the 2018 FIFA World Cup, thus making him the third person to win the tournament as both a player and a manager.
