Profession: President of Zimbabwe
Why Famous: Long a fixture of Zimbabwean politics, Mnangagwa was a leader of the rebel forces in the Rhodesian Bush War, alongside future president Robert Mugabe.
Mnangagwa became the country's First Vice President in 2014. A long power struggle with Grace Mugabe - the President's wife - resulted in his being fired, which triggered a coup on 14 November 2017. Mugabe relinquished power and the military instated Mnangagwa as leader.
