Biography: Gabriel García Márquez is one of the most well regarded writers of the 20th Century and was the recipient of the 1982 Nobel Prize for Literature.

Popularly known as "Gabo", Márquez began his professional life as a journalist in Colombia before achieving fame with his novel s "One Hundred Years of Solitude" in 1967. Other famous works include "Autumn of the Patriarch" and "Love in the Time of Cholera".
