Biography: Guru Nanak is the Founder of the religion of Sikhism and the first Sikh Guru.

Born in the Punjab, Nanak received a vision at about 30 years of age around 1499. Thereafter he travelled widely preaching his beliefs of one God, equality of all, and the importance of kindness, hard work and honesty.

Nanak died in Kartarpur and was succeeded by his appointed successor the 2nd Guru Bhai Lehna.
