Biography: Jane Lynch's most famous role is that of cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester in the musical TV series "Glee" (2009-15). Lynch won both an Emmy and a Golden Globe award for best supporting actress for the role.
Other than Glee, Lynch's career has spanned television, film and the stage. Lynch has appeared in three of Christopher Guest's films, the first being "Best in Show" (2000). Other film roles include Judd Apatow's The 40-Year-Old Virgin with Steve Carell, "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" and "Wreck-It Ralph".
On television Lynch has guest starred in many show such as The "The West Wing", "Two and a Half Men", for which she won an Emmy and "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" which also landed her another Emmy for guest actress. In 2010 she hosted "Saturday Night Live" and in 2011 she was only the third woman to host the Primetime Emmy Awards.
