Profession: Supermodel
Biography: Often called the world's first supermodel, Jean Shrimpton was alongside Twiggy one of the most prominent faces of 1960s swinging Britain. She marked a change from more aristocratic voluptuous models to a younger, hipper look.
Shrimpton met the photographer David Bailey early on in her career in 1960 and the two became famous for their partnership, both behind the lens and in front of it.
Shrimpton's look of long legs, swinging hair with a fringe and large eyelashes had a huge influence on fashion, helping to launch a new style that included such styles as the Mary Quant's mini dress.
Shrimpton quitted modelling and fashion in her early 30s, moving to Cornwall where she ran a hotel.
