Biography:One of the most widely read American economists, John Kenneth Galbraith wrote economist texts that were also bestsellers. Of his 33 books, his best known works are "American Capitalism" (1952), "The Affluent Society" (1958) and "The New Industrial State" (1967). Galbraith was a liberal who supported government spending and criticized the increasing wealth gap in society.
Galbraith also worked for the Kennedy administration as an economist adviser and served as his US Ambassador to India.
