Groban first rose to prominence with his self-titled debut album in 2001. Since then, he has released seven studio albums, including the platinum-selling albums Closer (2006) and All That Echoes (2013).

Groban has also appeared in several films and television shows. He made his acting debut in the 2006 film The Black Dahlia and has since appeared in the films Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011) and Coffee Town (2013). He has also guest-starred on the television shows Glee and The Office.
