Starr published his Starr Report in 1998 which alleged that Bill Clinton had lied about the existence of his affair with Monica Lewinsky during a sworn deposition.
The allegation led to the impeachment trial of Bill Clinton and the five-year suspension of Clinton's law license. Clinton was subsequently acquitted of these charges by the Senate on February 12, 1999.
