Biography:Best known as the de facto leader of The Three Stooges, the farce comedy team who starred in motion pictures and television for four decades. Although they began in vaudeville, the comedy act moved into film in the 1930s and appeared on TV from 1958.
Howard, along with Larry Fine was one of only two constants in the comedy act's line-up. The "third Stooge" was played by the actors Shemp Howard, Curly Howard, Joe Besser, and Curly Joe DeRita.
