Why Famous: Indian cricketer MS Dhoni is his country's the most successful captain of the national side. Under his captaincy 2007-2016 India won every ICC trophy, including the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Playing as both wicket-keeper and right-handed batsman, Dhoni made his One Day International debut in 2004 against Bangladesh. He was then named Man of the Series during the Sri Lankan tour of 2005. He scored his maiden test century touring Pakistan in 2006 and was ranked No. 1 in ICC ODI Rankings for batsmen in April of that year.

Appointed Captain in 2007 ahead of the 2007 World Twenty20 he captained his side until retiring from limited over formats in 2016. A film about his life titled M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story was released in 2016.
