Biography: Sergio García Fernández is a Spanish professional golfer who plays on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour.
García turned professional in 1999 at the age of 19. He won his first tournament, the Catalonian Open, that same year. García has gone on to win 32 tournaments around the world, including 10 on the PGA Tour and 9 on the European Tour. He has also been a runner-up in majors championship tournaments on five occasions.
García's best year on the PGA Tour came in 2008, when he won The Players Championship and the Byron Nelson Championship. He has finished in the top-10 of the world golf rankings on several occasions, reaching a career-high of No. 2 in 2008.
