Biography: Tucker Carlson is a right-wing journalist and political commentator and the host of "Carlson Tucker Tonight", the most watched cable news program in US history.
After starting in print journalism Carlson moved into television, working for CNN, including on "Crossfire". Daily Show host Jon Stewart criticized the show after appearing on it in 2004 and it was cancelled soon after.
Carlson then worked for MSNBC, hosting the nightly show "Tucker" from 2005-2008. He joined the Fox network in 2009, filling in for Sean Hannity. He was given his own show in 2016. Carlson also started the political news website "The Daily Caller" in 2010, but sold his share in 2020.
Carlson is known for his controversial views and was one of the most high-profile supporters of Donald Trump's presidency. His anti-immigration stances and comments on women have raised considerable ire.
In 2020 his comments defending the white teenage shooter who killed two people at a Black Lives Matter rally in Kenosha, Wisconsin were widely condemned.
