Biography:Vidal Sasson grew up in poverty in London before going on to become one of the world's first celebrity hairdressers. He is remembered for championing short hair for woman in a new easy-care style and popular cuts associated with him include the bob, the five-point cut and the pixie cut worn by the likes of Mary Quant, Grace Coddington and Mia Farrow.
He opened his first salon in London in 1954 and went on to build up a chain of worldwide hair salons and create a brand of international hair-products with the popular tag line, "If you don't look good, we don't look good."
1967-08-14 Celebrity hairdresser Vidal Sassoon cuts actress Mia Farrow's hair into the famous pixie cut, costing $5,000. In reality, just a publicity stunt, Farrow had previously cut her own hair.
