Execution of the Romanovs

1918-07-17 The Romanov royal family and several of their retainers are executed by a Bolshevik firing squad in the basement of Ipatiev House, in Yekaterinburg, Siberia

  • 1918-08-16 US troops overrun at Archangelsk by Bolshevik troops
  • 1918-08-17 Bolshevik revolutionary leader Moisei Uritsky is assassinated
  • 1918-12-16 German troops evacuate Finland, give over Kiev in the Ukraine to revolutionary forces and pull back from Estonia as Bolshevik forces move in

  • 2004-05-16 Day of Mourning at Bykivnia forest, just outside of Kyiv, Ukraine where during 1930s and early 1940s communist bolsheviks executed over 100,000 Ukrainian civilians
  • 2006-10-28 Funeral service for the peace of the executed at Bykivnia forest, outside of Kyiv, Ukraine, with reburial of 817 Ukrainian civilians (out of some 100,000) executed by Bolsheviks at Bykivnia in 1930s - early 1940s.
